Using an ATM
New video teaches young people about using an ATM
31 January 2012: There are around 64,500 ATMs (cash machines) in the UK today and, with over 100 million ATM-enabled cards in circulation*, it makes sense to educate young people on how to use one.
It would be easy to take for granted that everyone knows how to use an ATM. However, this isn’t necessarily the case, especially for those who have little experience in managing their own finances. That is why Nationwide Education – our education resource for parents, teachers and students – has created an entertaining short film for young people teaching them about using an ATM - or hole in the wall as it is sometimes known.
The film explains to young viewers how to use a PIN (personal identification number) safely, check their balance, access their money and to top-up their mobile phone credit. This helps young people gain a better understanding of how to manage their finances while out and about. So if your son, daughter or other friends or family have an ATM-enabled savings or current account and are interested in using an ATM, show them Nationwide Education's new video here now.
Other ‘Finance Ready’ videos are available to view here on Your Nationwide:
