When you leave a comment, you are agreeing to be bound by these conditions of use. If you do not agree then you should not leave a comment.

Nationwide invites you to suggest a topic, share your thoughts on a current topic, or suggest a customer service improvement. These conditions of use set out the rules governing how you may do so and how Nationwide may use your contribution.

Users may only contribute material in text format. Photographs, graphics, video or audio will not be published. Any contributions you make will be moderated by Nationwide which means they will be reviewed and may be edited prior to publication. On submitting a comment, suggestion or topic, you acknowledge that we are not obliged to publish any material submitted by you.

This area should not be used to make a complaint. All complaints must be raised using the appropriate channels as complaints are logged and dealt with by a specialist team. If you have a complaint, please follow the link to making a complaint to find out who you should contact.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

Your Nationwide is available to everyone. While we welcome constructive comments, views and opinions there are rules we have to work to for the benefit of all users.

Users wishing to comment should not:

  • Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate any person or entity or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy or intellectual property rights where appropriate) of others anywhere in the world that those rights may exist
  • Publish, post, distribute or disseminate any material which is obscene, indecent, unlawful or otherwise objectionable
  • Publish content that could be judged to be equivalent to commercial advertising, or in any way use Your Nationwide to promote your own business or the business of another individual
  • Advertise or offer to sell any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests or chain letters
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Post content in a language other than English
  • Post content that you know to be false
  • Falsify the origin or source of any content or other material
  • Contribute content with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act
  • Post any content that reveals any personal information about yourself or any other living individual (for example an email address, telephone number, postal address, account details). If you do post such content then you grant your consent and confirm that you have obtained the consent of any such other living individual, to disclose this information within Your Nationwide and to the transfer (by its display within the forum) of such personal information outside of the European Economic area
  • Upload content that contains software or other material protected by intellectual property rights (or by rights of confidentiality where applicable) unless they own, or control such rights, or have obtained all necessary consents from the owner of such rights
  • Post content which contains any links to third party sites or upload images
  • Delete any author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any content that is uploaded
  • Post content which is technically harmful, such as computer viruses, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software or harmful data

UNACCEPTABLE CONTENT

In line with best practice, if a user comes across any content within Your Nationwide which they think is breaching these conditions of use they can email the Member Engagement team at Nationwide, who will investigate further.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Comments related to individual or personal situations e.g. personal account queries will not be posted, but taken offline and followed up by a member of the appropriate team.

When users wish to leave a comment on Your Nationwide, they will be asked to provide us with a Screen Name, (the name which they will be known as on the website) and also their email address. The email address will not be posted online but may be used to contact users if required.

The email address will be stored under the conditions of Nationwide's existing privacy policy.

NATIONWIDE'S RIGHTS

  • All comments posted within Your Nationwide are the opinions of the users not Nationwide. We are not responsible for any comments posted by third parties and do not guarantee the accuracy of them. Where we respond to, or comment on a post, users will be able to distinguish this from a user comment
  • For security reasons, we will not be able to publish any click through link to a third party website if you have included one in your comment or suggestion.​
  • We may at any time remove content that we think is unsuitable or which does not meet the above conditions. We reserve the right to decide what content is used and how it is managed which includes:
    • The period for which comments are published or retained
    • The maximum size of any comment
    • The deletion or reinstatement of any comment
  • If you breach of any of these conditions, we may block or withdraw your access to the site without any notice to you
  • We reserve the right at any time without notice to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, Your Nationwide commenting system
  • We may want to change these conditions of use in the future and may do so at any time. Any change to these conditions will be effective as soon as it is published on this web page, so you should check the conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of and are complying with the current version
  • We will moderate comments based on the rules of participation.
  • We will have no liability or responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by any user of this website, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.
